Shipping, Receiving & Mail Services (SRM) is a diverse and nimble team that supports logistics activities in Santa Clara Valley. We’re seeking an experienced supervisor to join our department. You’ll be responsible for supervising two teams: the shipping team handles both domestic and international shipments, and the mail team receives and sorts postal mail. Key Qualifications

5+ years’ experience working in a fast-paced logistics facility or similar environment.

2+ years’ experience as a team supervisor.

1+ years’ experience related to international shipping.

Basic understanding of shipping laws, import and export regulations, sanctions, and customs clearance.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to write, speak, and present at all levels.

Can effectively communicate with customers, subject matter experts, and leadership to develop trust and positive relationships.

Proven analytical and organizational skills with the ability to supervise multiple high priority demands simultaneously.

Delivers high-quality results, with minimal direction, in an environment where expectations are high, and timelines are challenging.

Able to cut through ambiguity and drive projects forward, regularly multi-tasking, re-prioritizing, and demonstrating tenacious follow-through with your teams.

A problem-solver who digs into the details to make positive contributions and works collaboratively across all levels and functions.

Innovative with a desire for continual process improvement.

Works well under pressure, maintains self-composure and integrity, and exercises good judgement.

Proficiency in the following technical areas: scheduling or calendar software, logistics tracking software (experience with BearTracks is a plus), database software, Numbers or Excel, and Pages or Word.

Able to perform the following types of physical activities: lift up to 30 pounds, push/pull to move equipment, bend/stoop/squat/kneel, and reach above shoulders.

Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.

Description

You will have oversight of our shipping and mail teams as a working supervisor, assisting your team members with daily operations and helping fill in for employee absences. You’ll be expected to learn quickly and gain a deep understanding of all procedures performed by your teams. You’ll dig into the details to identify and implement process improvements, help raise and answer challenging questions, and ensure operations are running efficiently. Embracing and promoting Apple’s values and policies is crucial, as is exemplifying Apple’s high standards around integrity and ethics. You’ll ensure job functions are performed in a safe manner by following Environment, Health & Safety procedures. Collaboration is key to success at Apple, and you’ll frequently work with other supervisors and managers to develop and update Standard Operating Procedures and conduct team trainings. You’ll be expected to holding regular team meetings and 1:1s with your direct reports, continually providing coaching and mentorship on areas for development. You’ll also need to be comfortable having challenging conversations, and always remember to celebrate key achievements and growth. You should remain flexible and prepared for changes to the schedule, including occasionally working early mornings, evenings, or weekends. You will also be expected to assist with after-hours requests, as needed, and complete other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
